What makes it different
The original Darkfall was defined by the combination of twitch combat, unrestricted PvP, full loot, player cities and sieges. Losing or capturing a holding could change where an entire clan lived.
Sandbox systems
Full LootPvP death can expose carried equipment or items to other players under the game's loot rules.
Open PvPPvP can happen in meaningful parts of the shared world rather than only in queued matches.
Non-instancedImportant world activity occurs in shared spaces instead of separate copies created for each group.
Player Cities
SiegesPlayers can attack and defend fortified holdings or persistent objectives.
Naval CombatPlayers can use ships for combat or conflict on the water.
CraftingPlayers turn gathered or processed resources into useful equipment, goods or construction materials.
Player EconomyPlayer gathering, production and trade help determine how goods circulate through the economy.
PoliticsPlayer groups can form alliances, rivalries or other political relationships.
Territory ControlPlayer groups can fight for control or influence over locations in the persistent world.
Persistent WorldThe multiplayer world and player progress continue to exist between play sessions.
